Weekend Recap!
Lately Cletus has been able to take Fridays off (from the company that pays our health insurance). It's been lovely to have the long weekends. We get to play. We get a good bit of work done on the homestead and building the business. Sometimes we even get to rest!
This past weekend was full of things to to.
On Thursday I went and purchased a National Park Pass (the senior rate is only $20 and it is good for 12 months from date of purchase). I took some time to enjoy and admire the scenery while I was there
A storm was moving in ~ giving some MUCH-needed rain ~ but there were still sparkles
On Friday we packed a picnic lunch, took care of some NowHere business, and then took off for the beach. The Park Pass lets us get onto a hidden gem of a beach near Pensacola. The best part of this beach? It's close enough to NAS Pensacola to enjoy practices and airshows!
I love when Fat Albert shows up!
We sat with a couple from out of town and they mentioned how difficult it was to get a good view of the planes flying. I explained that those were the USAF Thunderbirds, who are NOT local. They just fly the routes over the base.
VERY hard to see them from where we were. Bless their hearts.
The Blue Angels, on the other hand, are LOCAL. They know where people congregate and are good about giving us a thrill! (That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!).
"Hidden" gem or not, there were still quite a few spectators
There were some early pilots...
...and a few wannabes.
Saturday we took a jaunt to the local Farmer's Market and visited with some good friends there.
The rest of the weekend was spent with friends hanging out at our Coffee Place,
doing some work on the new "Quail Condos"
and moving the current set of babies out of the brooder and into the condo.
Peek-a-boo!
They are not crazy about the wire floor but they do love their new sandbox!
"Everybody freeze: I think I see quail tracks!"
We moved the tractor to fresh grass and were able to put our hospital girl back in with her covey.
In the box....
I even took the time to apply to be a vendor at an event coming up! More about that if it works out 😊
And always, time to play with the indoor kittens.
I had planned to celebrate Dinovember, but the kittens got to the dinos before I could!
How was the weekend in your corner of the world?
