Summer Heat: Back to the Loom
Summertime heat.
We are currently on break from our local farmer's market.
Because it is HOT.
We have been busy finding new avenues for egg sales, planning our fall garden, and trying to catch up on indoor office work since we cannot get out in the garden much right now.
Because it is HOT.
I have also had a project on the loom.
I have a dear friend ~ one of my best encouragers ~ who asked me a few weeks ago for another shawl. This one is a wrap for when she and her husband go out and the thermostat at the restaurant is just a bit cool; something light-weight to cover her arms.
We went shopping at the yarn shop in Fairhope (Southern Twist Yarns; a GREAT place!) and after prowling around and discussing the different weights, she found a bright white she loves. We added in some thin metallic silver for "bling", a couple of charms to tie onto the corners, and I got busy.
This time, I decided to make her a 6-foot (her other two are 5-foot).
It took me longer than I intended but it finally got done.
| I don't often do a knotted fringe but I do love the look! |
She's happy. I'm happy.
| She makes my wraps look fabulous! |
Now her husband has to take her out for a night on the town to celebrate!
Absolutely love my shawl!!! Virginia is the best !!! This is my 3rd one! She also made me one to match my Mardi Gras gown! I had so many compliments on it! Get in touch with her to make one for you !!!!!!❤️
